Spenco Insoles: a form of foot care orthotics that can
help prevent and cure foot problems
Article by: Jessica Martin
Foot care orthotics are appliances or devices which are used on
the foot to correct and ultimately help cure biomechanically related
foot problems. During normal walking, the heels of the feet
swing back and forth very slightly. However, if the heel swings
too far over a period of time, the foot may be flattening too much
in its movement, thereby stressing and weakening the foot region.
Over time, many foot problems can result from this flattening of
the foot and weakening of this region in the body. Among the foot
problems that foot care orthotics like Spenco Insoles
helps cure are heel pain, corns, Morton's neuroma, and issues resulting
from wearing women's shoes or high-heels.
Spenco inserts are a very effective form of foot care orthotics.
A Spenco insole uses a soft and flexible arch cushion to absorb
the shock and impact that our feet experience in daily life. These
machine washable insoles are helpful for people with very flat feet
who prefer a more flexible insole solution.
Insoles are a very effective remedy for heel pain.
Heel pain is usually a sign of heel spurs, also known as planter
fasciitis. Heel spurs are normally caused by a biomechanical imbalance
which over time creates tension in the planter fascia region of
the foot, eventually causing pain in the heel.
Corns are an advanced form of calluses. A callus is a piece of
skin that gets thick after repetitive exposure. Over time, after
a callus accumulates dead cells at it center it becomes a corn.
Wearing insoles by Spenco can greatly reduce your risk of developing
corns on the feet.
Wearing foot care orthotics like insoles made by Spenco are an
excellent preventative measure from contracting Morton's neuroma.
Although the cause of Morton's neuroma is not definitive podiatrists
believe it is caused by flat feet and/or the long term use of high-heels.
Morton's neuroma is a condition where the nerve between the third
and fourth toe becomes enlarged, causing pain in this region of
the body. Spenco orthotics greatly help prevent this condition.
Long term use of high-heeled shoes can cause a myriad of foot
problems.
High-heels help contribute to knee and back problems; disabling
ankle injuries in falls; and an unnatural gait. High-heels change
the biomechanics of the feet to the point where their use impairs
the proper functioning of the feet. A solution for women who still
want to wear high-heels is to alternate shoe type frequently. When
not wearing high-heeled shoes, it is important that women wear wider
heeled shoes with a foot care orthotic such as the Spenco inserts.
