Circulation Therapy

A good blood flow to keep heart and legs healthy and your brains in shape, thanks to a proper Circulation Therapy

Blood circulation, the flow of bloodcells throughout your body, is obviously crucial to you, bad leg circulation can mean a number of complications for people and make it necessary for them to seek circulation therapy. An often occurring cause of bad leg circulation is peripheral vascular disease, or PVD. PVD is a circulation disorder involving blood vessels around the heart. PVD can occur in peripheral arteries (blood vessels in which blood flows away from your heart) or peripheral veins (vessels flowing blood towards your heart).

PVD involving arteries, is called peripheral artery disease, also known as PAD. A greasy material called plaque covers the walls of the peripheral arteries and hardens up over time. This restricts a proper blood circulation. This plaque doesn't cover the vesselwalls overnight, bu actually takes a long time to build up, which is why older people are more likely to suffer a bad circulation.

The following habits or conditions can cause leg circulation troubles:

Smoking, Being overweight, Diabetes, Not having enough exercise, Unbalanced diets, High blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, certain nervesysteml conditions, thyroid problems, being pregnant, sitting immobile for an extended period of time.

Usual symptoms when having bad leg circulation; symptoms build up over time

At first, you may have leg cramps or fatigue in the lower part of the body when active.Pain usually diminishes with rest, but will start again when activity resumes.
Some people experience a fatigued, hurting foot, or swollen feet or even legs.
You may also experience leg-cramps when sleeping or sitting still for longer periods of time.
You can also have symptoms as ‘cold feet,’ or 'sleeping 'feet.
If you often experience cold feet and/or cold hands usually is an indication that your blood circulation, or the blood flowing from your heart, has slowed. This may particularly occur at night in bed when you are about to sleep, but also while sitting still or after eating particular food.

Persons with very bad leg circulation may also have a risk for a blood clot, a sudden block in a vessel causing acute leg pain. When this happens a blood clot, also referred to as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), occurs in a deep vein, and can happen when a vein is not intact or if local circulation slows down or stops completely. If you’re overweight and particularly older than 40, you have to be especially aware of DVT.
