How To Properly Place Stick-On Shoe Inserts
There are numerous painful conditions that can cause pain at the ball of the foot. The best way to treat these conditions and alleviate pain is to place stick-on padding in every pair of shoes you wear. These inserts cushion the specific area of pain and aid in the healing process. The following will help you place Footsmart silicone stick-on padding properly:
- Examine the bottom of your foot and locate the area where you are most tender. To do this, gently press on all areas of the ball of the foot. There may be large areas of tenderness, but you need to find the pinpoint of pain or the spot where it is most painful.
- Mark the spot with a marker that contrasts greatly with the color of the inside of your shoes.
- Put your bare foot into the shoe and walk. Take as many steps as necessary to transfer the marker from your foot to the inside of the shoe insole.
- Remove the shoe and find the mark.
- Remove the protective wrapping and paper from the Footsmart silicone stick on padding. Situate it inside the shoe with the edge aligned with the spot on the shoe insole.
- Firmly press until the padding is affixed to the shoe. Put the shoe back on and take a few trial steps.
- You may need to make some adjustments until you achieve the most comfort.
