Hammertoe Straighteners - Deal with problems of hammer- and claw toes
They give the slight, but consistent, pull necessary to straighten out the problem. The elasticated heel piece is strong and passes around the back of the foot and then passes underneath to the toes. There is a padded hook closure which pulls down and so straightens the offending toe. If used regularly the muscles of the forefoot will be strengthened and painful side effects eased.

Hammer toes are caused by an imbalance between the muscle and the tendon which occurs over time. The condition can be made worse if footwear causes the toes to be crammed together. If hammer toes are not treated gradually they become totally rigid and more invasive treatment will be necessary. Pressure is put on the foot by shoes and calluses and corns develop. Pain also results from the dislocation of the toe joint. Early intervention is best and without it the condition is incapable of righting itself.
