Clear up fungal infections with an Antifungal Nail Kit
Thickened, brittle, discolored toenails are a sure sign of a fungal infection. Fungal infections account for around 50 percent of all nail problems and you are more likely to encounter problems if you work or spend time in damp, humid environments. Older individuals are also more prone to fungal infections because their nails take longer to grow. If you think you might have a fungal infection, try an antifungal nail kit to help you solve the problem.
Antifungal nail kits are a must have for every medicine cabinet, particularly if you know that you are at risk for these infections. An antifungal nail kit may include:
- Antifungal Cream: This cream will help cure the fungal infection that is already present. Use it according to the manufacturer's directions and continue for the entire time recommended or you may have a reoccurrence of the infection.
- Nail Revitalizer: Many antifungal nail kits will also include a revitalizing cream or liquid that will help the infected nails look better. Some help remove the discoloration from the nails.
- Applicator: Depending on the antifungal nail kit, you may find a brush or other applicator in the kit. Use the applicator to apply the cream or revitalize as directed on the package.
Once you believe that you may have a fungal infection, it is very important to seek treatment as soon as possible. Left untreated, the infection will continue to grow and spread. Fungal infections are generally also contagious to other humans and sometimes even to pets so for the health of those around you, begin using an antifungal nail kit as soon as possible.
Preventing another infection may mean some slight changes in your daily habits. Avoid going barefoot in public places, particularly in damp or wet areas like showers, pools, and locker rooms. Use an antifungal spray or powder on your feet and inside your shoes. Wear synthetic socks to help wick moisture away and keep your nails trimmed and clean.
