Foot Odor Lotion... Shh. Don't Tell Anyone. Foot odor doesn't
exist!
At least, that's what you'd think if all you ever did was ask
other people
about it. Truth is, no-one is willing to admit that they might
have bad
smelling feet -- you'd almost think it was an urban myth or a tall
tale to
scare children -- despite the fact that it's a relatively common
problem
easily solvable with foot odor lotion, spray and other odor-combating
devices. If left unchecked though, the problem can escalate to the
point
where taking your shoes off will instantly fill the room with a
pungent,
acrid odor. Try denying that you have foul smelling feet then! Instead
of
denying the problem, though, you can do one of a number of things
to combat
it. And below we've highlighted just one aspect of the war against
foot
odor: foot odor lotions.
Designed to be effective against bromhidrosis and hyperhydrosis
(the smell
of sweat and excessive sweating, respectively), a good foot odour
lotion
will not just mask the smell, but directly target and eliminate
the bacteria, foot fungi
and organisms that are the root cause of the problem, thereby eliminating
the smell. A desirable outcome, no? Also, lotions have the added
benefit of
being better able to soothe and provide topical relief than sprays
or
roll-on foot odor products are capable of. One such foot odor cream
is
Lavilin, a salve that only needs to be applied sparingly -- once
every few
days, in fact -- and does not need to be reapplied even after showering.
The
zinc oxide contained therein is supplemented with healthy, natural
ingredients.
If home remedies are more your bag, then perhaps the below tips
will be
better suited to your DIY inclined ways.
- - Sprinkle baking soda in each of your shoes, making sure to
spread it
evenly and dump any excess.
- - Wear socks! While it sounds elementary, given current fashion
trends it
bears repeating. Wearing no-show socks can keep you fashionable,
and help
prevent the bacteria that causes smelly feet from spreading.
- - Soak your feet in tea. Strange as it sounds, simply use warm
water and a
few tea bags and you're all set. It's like nature's smelly foot
lotion.
- - Alternatively, you can place an un-used (naturally!) tea bag
in each shoe.
- - While not exactly a remedy per se, good advice should never
be remiss:
Rotate the shoes you wear. Not wearing the same pair every day
can go a long
way to keeping them dry and moisture and odor free.
The more you know, the better it is. Or something like that. Whatever
the
case, you're now better equipped to stop the onslaught of foul-smelling
bacteria that may choose to invade your shoes from time to time.
And to make
sure that you're ready for even the most pressing assault, we've
gathered
together a host of links to the right-side of this article, highlighting
the
most effective, best-priced foot
odor lotion, foot powder, sprays and other
foot care products to keep your feet healthy and smelling like a
bed of
roses. Or tea bags. We're not sure.
