So Doc, please tell me, how do I treat these Swollen Feet
of mine?
Well, swollen feet are pretty common, and they happen to
just about everyone at some point in their lives. Swollen feet are
a nuisance and horribly uncomfortable. Shoes do not fit properly,
socks pull tight against the ankles, and they just look abnormal.
Of course they do, your feet are swollen.
So how can we fix them doc? The truth is that swollen feet are
common and that there is not quick fix or rapid remedy. These swollen
feet typically come from a disorder called pedal oedema or when
translated directly, swollen feet. However, other causes and factors
contribute to this swelling disorder including congestive heart
failure, malnutrition, kidney failure, leaky blood vessels, and
low blood protein content.
The best way to combat the swelling of your feet is through some
form of moderate exercise. This is a natural remedy that allows
the blood to flow more freely through your veins and vessels. Another
sure fire method to help in the reduction of foot swelling is to
watch your diet and be cautious about your sodium intake. Of course
there are numerous diet fads available that promise and guarantee
rapid results, but none of these are conducive to healthy feet.
Fat and sodium are the enemies of healthy blood low and should be
consumed in moderation to help in the reduction of the potential
hazards associated with swollen feet.
Swollen feet can also be treated by other means as well. In addition
to diet and exercise doctors recommend that when your feet do swell,
try to stay off of them. Sit down and relax those puppies. Always
remove your shoes and socks and elevate your feet and legs. A pillow
placed under your heels may also help reduce the swelling in your
feet. But before any additional action is taken or if the swelling
in your feet does not subside, be sure to consult a physician.
