Let's face it - it's embarrassing having all of those spider veins along your legs. Admit it, you hate it. These spider veins are just plain old ugly and unattractive. Spider veins, also known as varicose veins are a common ailment both among men and women, but are more common in the later. These veins are small thin veins that sit just below the skin and although are connected to the larger venous system, are not an essential facet of it.

These horrid spider veins in a few splendid varieties, most looking true to form, that is like little spider webs. Other spider vein patters resemble tiny tree limbs branching out from a central location while some may be simple little linear patterns travelling in various directions.

These spider veins or small, enlarged superficial blood vessels appear in red or blue. Professionals admit that they are not completely sure as to what the cause of these visible blood vessels is or why they even develop. And spider veins can not always be prevented either. Some procedures are available to treat these unsightly monsters through consultation with a plastic surgeon.
