Men's Dress Shoes: wardrobe staple and frequent source
of foot discomfort
When a young man begins to date, he quickly learns a few quick
lessons. First of all he starts to formulate an idea as to what
it is he likes about girls. He learns on the job so to speak and
makes a number of rookie mistakes. But in addition to these dating
pointers he picks up along the way, a young man also learns that
women complain all the time about their shoes and how sore they
make their feet. But let me be the first to tell you that men's
dress shoes are no great pleasure. Much like the fairer sex,
men also encounter great difficulty with the dress shoes we don.
Of course most men are fashion conscious and all too often sacrifice
style to comfort; fear not ladies, we pay the price too. At the
end of a long day our feet are sore, raw, and to many times blistered.
But why?
Unfortunately the fashion gods in Milan and in New York don't really
care about men's dress shoes and the way that they fit. As long
as they look good and make a character statement, they're acceptable.
Men are distinguished by four features; their haircut, the watch
we wear, our belts, and of course our shoes. And as a rule o thumb,
the more fashionable the men'sdress shoe, the less comfortable it
tends to be.
In a perfect world, men could throw these painful dress shoes into
the back of the closet and toss a pair of sneakers on in the morning,
wearing the pinstripes with a foot loving pair of Nikes', but
the reality is that we would look bit out of place in the office.
Or, we could always go back to the ancients and wear a pair of sandals
with our togas; again I fear we would stick out like a sore thumb.
So what do we do about these desperately uncomfortable men's dress
shoes fellas? I have got some god news about our dress shoes gentlemen,
here's the newsflash they do not have to be uncomfortable
anymore. But how you ask? Here are some helpful dress shoes tips.
First of all men, avoid lace up dress shoes at all costs. Besides
the fact they are not always in style, they tend to cut into the
arches of our feet. Put them away. Secondly, go with one of the
major designers like Cole Hahn who have, in some pursuit of the
ultimate shoe, teamed up with Nike to bring us the first loafer-sneaker
hybrid. And I've got to tell you, they are the most comfortable
dress shoes I have ever owned. Not only are these fashionable dress
shoes for the distinguished gentleman, but they are also beyond
comfortable. Imagine wrapping your feet in Angle Soft Toilet Tissue
and walking around all day that is what these are like.
But for the true discerning men's dress shoe critic, buy some
inserts. That's right, go out and buy a set or two of foam
or gel inserts. Gentlemen, make those dress shoes comfortable. The
ladies do everything that they can to make their shoes comfortable,
so why can't we?
