Eliminate Foot Odor With Daily Foot-Baths, Foot Powder, and Lots
of Socks.
Nearly everyone suffers from foot odor from time to time, particularly
if you have been walking, running, or playing sports.
For others, feet odor can be a chronic problem, and eliminating
foot odor a real challenge.
To truly get rid of foot odor, one must understand what causes
it.
Sweat causes foot smell. A persons feet have more sweat glands
than any other part of the human body. So if you are going to eliminate
foot odor, you need to manage sweat.
- Footwear causes smelly feet. While shoes protect our feet from
all
sorts of nasty injuries, they also make it hard for air to circulate
around the feet thus no evaporation. So if you are going to
eliminate foot odor, you need to manage moisture in your shoes.
- Bacteria causes foot odor. The warm, moist environment inside
shoes is a breeding ground for bacteria, and bacterial waste is
a
top cause of foot odor. So if you are going to eliminate foot
odor,
you need to manage bacteria.
- Fortunately, sweat; lack of evaporation, and even bacteria are
pretty easy to deal with.
- To manage your sweaty feet, try using a good quality foot
powder, you can see examples in the product pages on the right.
The foot powder will absorb much of the sweat, keeping your feet
relatively dry, and helping to get rid of foot smell.
- To manage your footwear try to give your shoes a day off. So
instead of wearing the same shoes everyday, alternate between
two or three pairs so your footwear has time to dry out. Also
change your socks once or twice a day. Combined these habits
will help eliminate foot smell. Be sure to check out the product
pages at right.
- To manage bacteria give yourself a daily foot bath in lukewarm
water with a mild soap. Be sure to dry your feet very carefully.
These baths will discourage the growth of bacteria and will help
eliminate foot smell.
