Heels

Heels are the most neglected part of our bodies because we think that they are thick and can withstand punishing treatmen

The heels of our feet need just as much attention as other parts. Even though the skin of the heels is thick, it can get cracked and sore. The heels also dry out and need to be moisturized at least once a day. If the skin of the heel is hard and thick, you can also soften it up with an Emory board. This helps to get rid of some of the dead skin on the heels and allows the moisturizing cream to penetrate.

If you persistently have dry heels, you should probably get a doctor to check your blood circulation because poor circulation often causes dry heals. To protect your heels, you should wear properly fitting shoes and socks. Leather footwear is better for your heels than vinyl. You should inspect the skin on your heels every day to ensure that it does not get cracked and sore. You should never soak your feet for more than 10 minutes at a time as this will soften up the heels too much.

If you have problems with your heels, consulting with a podiatrist will help relieve your symptom. He/She will explain how you need to care for your heels and the proper insoles you should have, if you need any. You will also be able to find out what creams would work best for you heels.
